previous school year.

Overview: This course will begin with a brief background
of publishing terms and techniques. Students will then gain experience
in editing copy and layout, news gathering, feature writing, graphics,
design, and some photography through the production of the yearbook.
The advertising sales unit requires each student to sell a set number
of ads to area businesses. First year Yearbook Publication students
must start at the beginning of the year. Previous Yearbook Publication
students may join the class for second semester.

Prerequisite: ENG257 – Yearbook Publication

Overview: This is an advanced course in the production
and publication of the school yearbook.
ENG457 – Yearbook Publication (3)
Open to: Grade 12
Prerequisite: ENG357 – Yearbook Publication (2)
with a grade of “B” or better and a teacher conference.

Overview: Yearbook 3 is designed for the highly motivated
student who is interested in assuming increased responsibility and providing
leadership in the overall process of yearbook publication. Additionally,
the course curriculum further develops and refines the course objectives
outlined in Yearbook 1 and 2. The responsibilities of the student in
this course include management, marketing, and publication of the ICHS
yearbook. As members of the yearbook staff, students in this course
will be expected
to: participate in an advertising campaign that includes selling advertisements
to the community and to cover after-school activities, as assigned.
