~ Each week your child will come to the library twice.

1. On one day, I will read stories, teach library skills, and/or sometimes

we will do fun activities.

2. On the second day it will be for book checkout only and possibly silent reading.

~ Your child may check out 2 books (or 1 book + 1 magazine) for 1 week.

* Books only may be renewed for up to 2 additional weeks if necessary.

* Students are encouraged to have at least 1 AR book at all times.

* Students may be required to check out 2 AR books near the end of a quarter

if they have not made enough progress towards their goal.

~ Your child will be allowed to check out a third book for any assigned report/project.

~ Overdue notices (“pink slips”) may be sent home if a book is not returned in a timely manner. After 4 weeks overdue, a book is considered lost and payment will be requested for a replacement to be purchased by the school.

*Library privileges may be suspended for students who habitually return books late or ignore reminders and overdue notices.

~ Your child has been encouraged to keep their books in their backpack. This will help ensure that your child has their books when they need them...at home to read or at school to return on library day.
